Krzysztof Andrzejewski, libero of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, received a positive SARS-CoV-2 test result. The infected player did not travel with the team to Rzeszów for the match against Asseco Resovia.
On Monday, October 12, Andrzejewski reported to the medical staff the slightly raised temperature, while lacking any other symptoms indicating coronavirus infection. However, the staff precautiously decided to isolate the player from the team. On Tuesday, Andrzejewski went to Katowice to perform the RT-PCR test in a private laboratory, which guaranteed the result within a few hours. Unexpectedly, the result turned out to be positive.
The player has agreed to make his personal data public, he feels good, he has no other symptoms apart from the persistent temperature of 37.1-37.2°C.
The information about the result was received before the team left the hotel for training in the Podpromie hall. The club immediately informed the sanitary-epidemiological services, the Polish Volleyball League and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, and the team went back to Zawiercie. After reaching the destination, players and coaching and medical staff will begin self-isolation.
